Safeguarding June 2017 Update

REGISTRATIONS:

page1image3920

A player is not fully registered unless details are uploaded on to the GAA portal and manual application completed and signed off.

Clubs can contact Tara, Christy or I to make, arrangements to visit their facilities to assist with signing off registrations and production of ID cards. Alternatively, forms can be brought to county board meetings or games. If bringing to games please contact Tara or myself so that we can ensure one of us meet with you ahead of the fixture.

Championship registrations will need to be completed a minimum of 48 hours prior to actual time of game.

Clubs who fail to register their players via the above routes will result in teams playing illegally, breaking GAA regulations and invalidating the insurance scheme and disciplinary action taken.

To help with this process a copy of the ‘Registration Form’ is attached. This is also posted on the Warwickshire website - www.warwickshiregaa.ie/juvenile forms

Reminder: ID cards are to be kept securely by Mentors or Club Registrars. They should not be left in cars over-night or on view. Mentors should have them available for inspection at games, if required. If you have obsolete registrations (including ID cards) they should be disposed of securely by shredding.

MOUTH-GUARDS:

Mouth-guards are compulsory kit items and need to be worn. Spare mouth-guards are always available from behind the bar in Pairc na hEireann - £2.00 each.

SAFEGUARDING CERTIFICATION:

Anyone working with underage are to complete the safeguarding training every 3 years. Some members certificates have expired and have not renewed via this year’s training courses. Therefore, we have obtained agreement from Provincial Council to trial an online renewal via Sports Coach UK. Each user will be charged £15.00 but we will invoice the club. Members can complete this online training in their own time (3 hours in total), but within two weeks of being issued with their unique ID code. If you have a member that falls into this category, please provide the following details and I will forward all the necessary login details.
