In line with GAA regulations, Warwickshire are consistently promoting a fun and safe environment for our underage members. To aid this the following procedures are in place.
Safeguarding Strands
Warwickshire employees or volunteers involved in the supervision or coaching of players under the age of 18s/vulnerable adults are to avail training, obtain appropriate certifications and abide by the Code of Conduct.
- DBS Vetting Certificate (to be renewed every 3 years)
- Safeguarding & Protecting Youth Certificate (to be renewed every 3 years)
- Coaching Badges – minimum of Foundation (if applicable to the role)
Registrations
A player is not fully registered unless details are uploaded on to the GAA Portal and a manual application completed and signed off (see Juvenile forms link). General Data Protection Regulations are in place.
Players are required to be registered at least 72 hours prior to participating in any game.
Clubs can contact Tara Tolan (pro.warwickshire@gaa.ie) or Julie Duffy (childrensofficer.warwickshire@gaa.ie) to make arrangements to visit their facilities to assist with the signing off of registrations. Alternatively, forms can be brought to the County Board meetings.
Clubs who fail to register their players via the above routes will result in teams playing illegally, breaking GAA rules, invalidating the injury scheme and disciplinary action will be taken.
Links for the documents for registration are on the bottom of the page.
Mouth-Guards
Mouth-guards are compulsory kit items and need to be worn. Spare mouth-guards are always available to purchase from the club house or their club management.
First Aid
Defibrillators and first aid resources are available in the club house at Pairc na hEireann.
Photography
Photography/recording may take place at venues for the promotion and publicity of our games. Clubs are required to obtain parental permission for their underage members and should notify event organisers, if consent is not given.
